By creating a Bail account or using the Bail app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Bail. Bail is operated by aimdev.
What Bail does
Bail schedules a phone call or SMS to your own verified phone number at a time you choose, so you have a graceful reason to leave a situation. You choose a persona, a time, and (optionally) a custom message.
The own-number guardrail
Bail will only ever call or text the single phone number you have verified as your own. You may not use Bail to call, text, harass, deceive, or "prank" any other person, or any number that is not your own. Attempting to do so is a material breach of these Terms and may be unlawful. You are solely responsible for the content of any custom message or spoken script you create.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Bail to harass, intimidate, defraud, or impersonate anyone.
- Do not use Bail for emergencies. Bail is an entertainment/convenience tool and is not a safety, security, or emergency service. In a real emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Do not attempt to bypass the own-number guardrail, scrape, overload, or otherwise disrupt the service.
- You are responsible for keeping your account and sign-in credentials secure.
Telephony reliability
Calls and SMS are delivered through third-party carriers (via Twilio). We cannot guarantee that any given call or message is placed, answered, or delivered on time, or at all. Delivery depends on carriers, your device, and network conditions outside our control.
Credits, subscriptions, and payments
Escapes are paid for with credits or an active subscription. Each escape costs one credit regardless of type or number of phases. Credits and subscriptions are purchased in the Bail app, through Google Play or the Apple App Store; nothing is sold on this website. The store you bought from processes the payment, and its terms apply to billing, renewal and cancellation. To cancel a subscription or ask for a refund, use that store: refunds are handled by Google or Apple, not by us. A subscription started on the web before purchases moved into the app is still billed by Stripe, under the terms shown at that checkout, until it ends. Credits are not redeemable for cash.
Privacy
Your use of Bail is also governed by the Bail Privacy Policy, which explains what data we process (including your verified phone number and, via Twilio, your call and SMS content) and your rights. You can delete your account and data in-app or by emailing [email protected].
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Bail is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, aimdev is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, Bail — including any missed, late, or undelivered call or message. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including non-excludable consumer guarantees where they apply).
Changes and termination
We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the change. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
